Section 1: Introduction

To understand community specific water quality index, it is not enough to have data based on water quality parameters only. An increase in anthropogenic activity, population growth, urbanisation have a significant impact on all natural resources, particularly water quality, which is worsening. Along with all of these scenarios, extreme variability in weather patterns aggravate the situation by exponentially increasing the crisis to the access, availability and affordability to clean drinking water solutions. This is becoming a major concern and crisis. Another major challenge is non access to real-time information on dynamic variability in water contamination levels and its impact on public health, which contributes to lack of awareness in multiple stakeholders. Hence multiple stakeholders are not able to ensure safe drinking water availability, since they lack real-time knowledge of dynamical geo spatial variation of water quality and its impact. Therefore, climatic variations along with the terrain and environmental factors lead to dynamic spatio temporal impact on regional water quality. Indeed the above challenges have prompted us to study all the Water Quality Index (WQI) impact factors such as terrain features,climatic variations, anthropogenic activities, agricultural practices, etc., that affect the water quality and develop a solution that could determine dynamically varying zonal water quality indices. Water quality variability of different sources will be studied by employing multiple data monitoring techniques such as remote sensing, in-situ monitoring and so on. The GEL-IoT framework is capable of disseminating the data captured by means of such monitoring techniques and thereby empowering the community members and other stakeholders to be ‘water-wise’. It enables the identification of the predominant contaminants, and the diseases caused by them which could be used by the water authority or decision makers to take corrective measures for a specific location. All the information collected by the GEL-IoT framework will aid the design and development of AI based decision models integrating the geospatial models (GeoAI models) and community centric business models which helps in the sustainability of the water purification system and formation of water-wise communities.

The Gel-IoT App is a mobile application that allows users to track and monitor various events and activities in their community. It also provides a platform for users to share and view events and activities in their community. The app is designed to be user-friendly and easy to use, with a simple and intuitive interface.

The Gel-IoT App is available for download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app also is available on web at https://gel.amrita.edu

Section 2: Account Management

How do I register?

Once you download the app and open it, you are presented with the login screen. You can click on the Click to Signup button but at the bottom of the screen and proceed with the simple registration process.

How can I reset my password?

Once you enter a wrong password, the password hint you have entered will be shown. Based on the hint you can enter the correct password. If you are still unable to enter the password, you may send an email to amritakripatech@gmail.com or contact your supervisor.

How can I change my password?

The password can be updated from the Profile page. Click on the menu button in the top left corner. Click on the profile menu, then click on the password tab and proceed.

How can I change my profile image, name, email etc.

The password can be updated from the Profile page. Click on the menu button in the top left corner. Click on the profile menu and proceed.

Can I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the profile page. In the profile menu, click on the Delete button to proceed. Once the account is deleted, it cannot be undone. All the data associated with your account is lost.

Section 3: Tracking Events

How to I track events?

Click on the Report Events button from Home page or the Menu

• Click on one of the Projects to reveal the associated Event Types and click on the desired event type
• If a consent is presented, sign the consent to proceed. Otherwise, you will be taken directly to the event details page.
• There are four tabs; Questions, Images, Location, and Details
• Answer all the relevant questions, Upload images from the gallery or take pictures from Camera, Set the location from GPS, or by searching a place, and add any additional details in the Details tab
• Fill in the event details and click on the submit button

Section 3: Managing Events

How to I View events?

Click on the View my Events button from Home page or the Menu

• Click on one of the Projects to reveal the associated Event Types and click on the desired event type
• Note:If the event type is already selected from Track menu, the above step is skipped and it directly takes to the next step. In case if you need to change the event type, click on the back button and change the event type
• The My Events screen presents the tracked events on the Map interface by default
• Click on the list or image buttons on the top right, to see the events in list and image views respectively
• On the map view, based on the event type, you may have more than one location associated with each event based on the image locations or location questions. Choose the additional locations by clicking on the Options menu on top left
• Click on the filter button on the top right to filter the events further based on questions etc.

How to I edit the events?

Click on the View my Events button from Home page or the Menu and proceed as mentioned above to identify the event you want to edit

• You will be taken to the view event page in the read-only mode. You can view all the detials in the respective tabs
• Click on the Edit button on the bottom top right to edit the event, to get into edit mode
• Make the desired change and click on the update button to save changes.
